NA Takes 2nd Place At Tri-Meet With PR, Burrell

The North Allegheny gymnastics team hosted a tri-meet with Pine-Richland and Burrell on Wednesday night and came away with a second-place finish. The Tigers totaled a team score of 126.6, narrowly behind first-place Pine-Richland who finished with a team score of 139.95. The Bucs took third with a score of 62.8.

The Tigers had several outstanding performers to help lead the way. Sophomore Gabbi Stegeman tallied the top score on the bars (7.0) and beam (8.5) for North Allegheny. Sophomore Jena Karlovitis paced the team in the vault event with a score of 8.7. Sophomore Sophie Aglietti posted an impressive 9.05 in the floor event. The NA gymnasts will visit Central Valley on Friday, Jan. 28 in the final regular season meet of the year before the WPIAL championships in February.

Tigers Host Tri-Meet With Baldwin, Thomas Jefferson

The North Allegheny gymnastics team returned to action on Wednesday night and hosted a tri-meet with Baldwin and Thomas Jefferson. The Highlanders won the meet with a team score of 142.9, followed by TJ’s 140.8 and North Allegheny’s 123.15.

The Tigers were led by sophomore Gabbi Stegeman, who was the team leader in vault (8.45), bars (7.1) and floor (8.8) events. Sophomore Masha Dudina posted the team-high score on the beam with an 8.5. Sophomore Jena Karlovitis also had a steady performance with an 8.45 on the vault and an 8.4 on the beam. For a complete look at individual scoring, click here.

North Allegheny will host Pine-Richland and Burrell for a tri-meet on Wednesday, Jan. 19.

NA Gymnasts Take Part In Tri-Meet At Pine-Richland

The North Allegheny gymnastics team took part in a tri-meet at Pine-Richland on Friday night with the Rams and Fox Chapel Foxes and finished in third place with a team score of 90.2. Host Pine-Richland won the meet with a team score of 136.65, followed by Fox Chapel’s 119.95.

The Tigers had several outstanding individual performances, including sophomore Devyn Horner, who led the team in the vault and floor events. Horner totaled a team-best score of 8.0 on the vault and 7.5 in the floor competition. Sophomore Gabbi Stegeman paced the team on the bars with a 7.25, while sophomore Jena Karlovitis topped the NA scoresheet on the beam with a 7.8.

North Allegheny returns to action on Wednesday for a home tri-meet with Baldwin and Thomas Jefferson starting at 7:00 p.m. at Jewarts Gymnastics.

NA Gymnasts Open Season At Moon

The North Allegheny gymnastics team opened the 2021-2022 season on Thursday night with a road meet at Moon High School. The young NA team finished in fourth place with a team score of 123.1 against Moon’s three split quads. The Moon Red team took first place with a scored 145.6.

With a group of seven sophomores, the youthful North Allegheny Tigers put together some impressive individual performances. In the vault event, NA was paced by Masha Dudina’s score of 8.7, followed closely by Gabbi Stegeman’s 8.6. On the bars, Stegeman paced North Allegheny with a score of 7.6. Stegeman also led the team in floor competition with a score of 8.7. On the beam, Jena Karlovitis was the team’s top scorer with an 8.7. The NA gymnasts will return to action on Friday, Jan. 7 for a road tri-meet with Fox Chapel and Pine-Richland at Trinity Gymnastics at 7:00 p.m.
