2017-2018 Game Summaries
The North Allegheny gymnastics team finished in third place at the WPIAL team championship this weekend. The Lady Tigers posted a team score of 144.9, just over three points shy of the top spot. Moon, the host team, took advantage of its familiar surroundings and won its second straight WPIAL title by the narrowest of margins. Moon totaled a score of 148.050 to finish ahead of second-place Thomas Jefferson who netted a team score of 147.95. It’s the fifth WPIAL title for Moon in the last seven years.
North Allegheny was led by senior Annie Haywood who posted the team-high score in the bar (9.65), beam (9.25) and floor events (9.7). Junior Alicia Hinnebusch paced NA on the vault, notching a score of 9.55.
At the WPIAL individual championships on Saturday, Haywood captured first place in the floor competition with a score of 9.8 and finished third in the all-around with a score of 37.75. For a look at all North Allegheny scoring from the team and individual championships, click here.

In the final meet of the regular season, the North Allegheny Tigers hosted Burrell, Montour and Chartiers Valley on senior night and earned a first-place finish with a team score of 144.45. Burrell took second with a score of 103.05, followed by Montour with an 87.95 and Chartiers Valley with a 27.2.
Junior Addie Restelli and senior Annie Haywood helped lead the Tigers to the win. Restelli totaled team-high scores in the vault and bar competitions with scores of 9.4 and 9.3, respectively. Haywood posted team-highs in the floor and beam events with scores of 9.5 and 9.6, in each. Haywood and fellow senior Tarin Wilks were recognized prior to the meet for senior night festivities. With two strong performances to end the regular season, the NA gymnasts will strive for a title at the WPIAL championships on February 16-17.
The North Allegheny gymnastics team earned a first-place showing in a quintuple-meet at Hampton High School on Thursday night. The Lady Tigers bested the competition with a team score of 144.35, with Pine-Richland taking second place with a score of 140.65 and Hampton claiming third place with a score of 140.6. Fox Chapel posted a team score of 119.45 and Burrell rounded out the scoring with a 100.95.
Helping the Lady Tigers to victory was junior Alicia Hinnebusch who tallied team highs in the vault and beam competition with scores of 9.5 and 9.1, respectively. Junior Addison Restelli paced the Tigers on the bars with a 9.2. Senior Annie Haywood prevailed in the floor competition with a score of 9.75. For a complete look at the NA team scores, click here.
North Allegheny will return to action with a home meet against Chartiers Valley, Burrell and Montour on Thursday, Feburary 1 at 7:00 p.m.
The North Allegheny gymnastics team earned a second-place finish in a quad-meet at Baldwin on Friday night. Thomas Jefferson took first-place honors with a team score of 145.5. The Lady Tigers notched a team score of 143.05 for second place, followed by Hampton at 137.55 and Baldwin at 125.85.
North Allegheny’s best event was the bars competition with a score of 37.2, led by senior Annie Haywood who posted a 9.45. Haywood also paced the Tigers in the vault and floor competition with scores of 9.3 and 9.7, respectively. On the beam it was freshman Jenna McConnell who led the way with an 8.95. The Lady Tigers return to action on Thursday, January 25 for at Hampton to take on the Talbots, Burrell, Pine-Richland and Fox Chapel.
The North Allegheny gymnastics team opened the 2017-2018 season on Thursday night with a quad-match triumph over West Allegheny, Central Valley and Pine-Richland. The Tigers topped out with a team score of 143.25. West Allegheny finished second with a score of 141.35, followed by Central Valley’s 140.95. Pine-Richland rounded out the scoring with a 135.45.
Leading the way for North Allegheny was senior Annie Haywood who posted a team-high score in the vault, beam and floor events. Haywood notched a 9.45 in the vault, a 9.4 on the beam and a 9.55 in the floor competition. Juniors Addison Restelli and Alicia Hinnebusch tied for the team-best on the bars with an 8.8.
