TIGERS BLANK SPARTANS, 10-0, TO ADVANCE TO WPIAL SEMIFINALS
Sophomore Mitch Machi tossed five-plus scoreless innings and drove in two runs in North Allegheny’s 10-0 win over the Hempfield Spartans on Wednesday night.   Machi went 3-for-4 at the plate and invoked the 10-run rule with an RBI single in the 6th inning to end the WPIAL Class AAAA quarterfinal contest.  On the bump, Machi went 5 2/3 innings of shutout baseball and struck out eight batters along the way.   For his outstanding pitching and hitting, Machi was named the Wright Automotive Player of the Game.  (More)

LADY TIGERS BATTER BALDWIN, 11-1, IN OPENING ROUND
The North Allegheny Tigers advanced to the round-of-eight with a convincing 11-1 victory over the Baldwin Highlanders at Fairhaven Park on Tuesday afternoon.  Sophomore pitchers Sami Beining and Mary Funderlich combined for the victory, allowing Baldwin just one run on seven hits. The Highlanders scored their only run in the bottom of the first on a single, fielder’s choice and two more singles to give Baldwin its only lead at 1-0. (More)

NA GIRLS LACROSSE BOUNCED BY SEWICKLEY ACADEMY, 18-9
North Allegheny had a familiar opponent in the Sewickley Academy Panthers in Tuesday afternoon’s WPIAL play-in game, but the Tiger’s couldn’t come away with the victory and suffered an 18-9 defeat. Sewickley opened up the scoring early in the game, but junior Christine Palmeri answered right back tying the score at 1-1 less than two minutes into play. Sophomore Rena Ferrara would give the Tigers the early advantage, 2-1, soon after.  (More)

 

NA BOYS VOLLEYBALL GETS FIRST ROUND BYE IN WPIAL PLAYOFFS
The Class AAA Boys Volleyball brackets have been released and the five-time defending champion North Allegheny Tigers are the top-seed in this year’s tournament.  The Tigers sprinted through the regular season with only one loss and came away with four first-place trophies in area tournaments.  North Allegheny has a first-round bye in the WPIAL bracket and will host a second round match-up on Thursday night.  NA will take on the winner of the Penn Trafford-Baldwin match on Tuesday night. 
  

THREE NA CREWS EARN INVITATION TO NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP
The Midwest Scholastic Rowing Championship in Cincinnati, Ohio pitted North Allegheny against forty-four other school districts from Pennsylvania, Ohio, Michigan, Illinois, and Indiana, with over two thousand competitors seeking recognition as the best crews in events ranging from single sculls to eight person boats. NA YOUTH FOOTBALL CAMPS
Join Coach Art Walker and members of his coaching staff for the 8th annual NA youth football camps this May and June.  The Future Tiger camp (for Grades 7-9) will be held on May 29-31 from 3:30-6:00 pm.   Tiger Youth Camp (for Grades 1-6) will take place June 18-20 from 5:00-7:30.  Both camps will be held at Newman Stadium on the campus of North Allegheny Senior High School.  For more information on the camps, click here.  A registration form can be found here or here.

GIRLS TENNIS - MEETING FOR INTERESTED PLAYERS

Attention girls tennis players: A meeting will be held on May 30 from 7-8 pm in the NASH cafeteria for those interested in competing in girls tennis this upcoming fall.  Both athletes and parents are encouraged to attend.

 

CROSS COUNTRY - SUMMER CONDITIONING INFORMATION

Summer conditioning sessions are set to begin on June 11 for those interested in competing in cross country this upcoming fall.  Additional information regarding the upcoming fall season (including physical forms, ImPACT testing, and eligibility) is available by clicking here

HALL OF FAME CLASS OF 2012 ANNOUNCED
The North Allegheny Athletic Hall of Fame Committee announced its Induction Class of 2012 and Special Honorees to be recognized at the 16th Annual Induction Banquet on Thursday, October 11, 2012, at the Chadwick.  The Class of 2012 and special honorees include:

The North Allegheny Athletic Department and Unified Boosters regretfully announce that the Tiger Classic Golf Outing has been canceled. 
 

NA CELEBRATING NATIONAL LEARN TO ROW DAY
The North Allegheny Rowing Team is celebrating National Learn to Row Day on Saturday, June 2 with a “Learn to Row” event at the Groveton Boat Club.  The event will be held from 9 am – noon and the registration for the event is free.  To register, send an email to na.row.coach@gmail.com.

NEW NCAA ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS ON THE HORIZON
