Aaron Miller’s Natural Hat Trick Sparks 5-0 Win Over Raiders

Posted on:

A natural hat trick by Aaron Miller in the second period propelled the North Allegheny Tigers to a 5-0 victory over the Seneca Valley Raiders on Thursday night at the Baierl Ice Complex in Warrendale. Miller’s hat trick came via an even strength goal, a power play goal and a short-handed goal. For his sterling performance, Miller was named the Wright Automotive Player of the Game by the North Allegheny Sports Network.

On a four-point night for the senior forward, Miller and Tyler Lamark assisted on the game’s first goal courtesy of Will Parreaguirre at the 9:55 mark of the first period for a 1-0 lead. Playing in just his second game after his return from a meniscus injury, the goal was Parreaguirre’s first of the season.

The Tigers broke the game wide open in the second period thanks to Miller’s hat trick and put the finishing touches on the night with a power play marker by freshman Kevin Hart with just 36 seconds remaining in the game to cap a 5-0 win.

It’s the second time in a matter of weeks that the Tigers have posted a 5-0 win over the reigning PIHL Class AAA champions. In this shutout, it was sophomore goalie Josh Bailey who blanked the Raiders with 26 saves on the night.

North Allegheny improves to 9-2 on the season and returns to sole possession of first place in the Class AAA standings. Seneca Valley slides to 5-5 on the year. The Tigers will face Mt. Lebanon on the road on Monday night.
