Big Third Quarter Not Enough In 13-10 Loss At Mars

Despite a third-period outburst by North Allegheny, Mars fought back in the fourth quarter for a 13-10 non-section win on Monday night. The Tigers trailed 7-3 at halftime but scored the first six goals of the second half to grab a 9-7 advantage. Junior Matt Osten led the charge with a hat trick, while sophomore Isaiah Davis added two goals.

Just as dominant as the Tigers were in the third quarter, outscoring Mars 5-0 in the period, the Planets were just as impressive in the fourth and outscored NA 6-2 to claim the win.

For North Allegheny, joining Osten and Davis on the scoresheet were Wes Powell, Ben Maenza, Kyler Byerly and Ian Young. Powell and Nick Kairys posted one assist each.

North Allegheny slides to 6-5 overall with the loss. The Tigers will host Fox Chapel in a Section 3-AAA battle on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. The game will be broadcast live via the internet on the North Allegheny Sports Network.
