Blue Devils Edge Tigers, 4-3

The Mt. Lebanon Blue Devils snapped North Allegheny’s three-game winning streak with a 4-3 victory over the Tigers on Monday night. Wyatt George posted a hat trick and broke a 3-3 tie in the third period with his third goal of the night to propel the Blue Devils to the win. Mt. Lebanon outshot the Tigers, 31-27.

North Allegheny struck first in the opening period on a goal by Dylan Watkins, assisted by Will Parreaguire and Vincenzo Mazur, for a 1-0 lead. Mt. Lebanon netted the next two goals in the second period to take a 2-1 advantage courtesy of goals by George and Anthony Sandora. The Tigers knotted up the score at 2-2 when Aaron Miller tallied a marker with 5:15 remaining in the period. George’s second goal of the evening came just 31 seconds later to vault Mt. Lebanon back in front, 3-2.

Tyler Putnam scored for North Allegheny at the 2:22 mark of the third period to even the score at 3-3. The tie lasted less than three minutes before George culminated his performance with a hat trick and scored the game-winning goal to give the Blue Devils a 4-3 victory.

North Allegheny falls to 6-2-1 following the loss, while Mt. Lebanon improves to 4-5-1. The Tigers look to rebound on Monday, December 18 with a home game against Bethel Park at 7:00 p.m.
