Butler Scores Late To Upend NA, 2-1

Winners of four of their last five games, the Butler Golden Tornado scored two goals in the final few minutes of the game to upend the North Allegheny Tigers on Monday night, 2-1.

The game started auspiciously for North Allegheny as junior Alex Adams scored just two minutes into the game to give the Tigers a 1-0 lead. That one-goal advantage was maintained by halftime thanks to several key saves from senior goalie Olivia Ruppersberger.

In the second half, Butler continued to pressure the NA net and eventually scored the game-tying goal with a little over two minutes remaining in the game. The game-winning marker came soon after on a corner kick to lift the Tornado to a stunning 2-1 win.

The playoff-bound Tigers fall to 9-5 overall and 5-3 in section play. Butler, who has also qualified for the postseason, improves to 9-6 overall and 5-4 in the section. North Allegheny looks to bounce back on Wednesday night with a visit to North Hills. The game will be video streamed live by the North Allegheny Sports Network via pay-per-view for $5.00 and can be viewed by clicking here.
