Canon-McMillan Nips NA In Game One of PIRHL Semifinals

The North Allegheny inline hockey team opened the PIRHL playoffs on Saturday evening with a 5-4 loss to Canon-McMillan in game one of the semifinals. With the win, the Big Macs take a one-game lead in the best of three series.

The Tigers fell behind 3-0 after one period but rallied back into the game in the second and third periods. Tyler Putnam, Ryan Cameron and Justin Symons all tallied goals in the second period to cut the Big Macs lead to 4-3.

The Tigers eventually tied the game in the third period at the 5:16 mark on a short-handed goal by Symons, knotting up the score at 4-4. However, the Big Macs answered back just over a minute later on a goal by Daniel Garver, his third of the game, to vault CM to a 5-4 victory.

The PIRHL semifinal series continues with game two on Saturday, March 2 at 8:00 p.m.
