Clara Savchik, Ayden Owens Win Silver At Indoor State Championship
The North Allegheny indoor track team took part in the PTFCA Indoor State Championship at State College on Sunday and had several top-notch performances along the way. In the girls 3000 meter run, junior Clara Savchik clocked in with a time of 9:50.57 for a silver medal. Also for the Lady Tigers, senior Melina Owens checked in with a fifth place finish in the girls 60 meter hurdles.
For the NA boys, junior Ayden Owens was impressive with two silver medals, one in the 60 meter hurdles and another in the 200 meter dash. Junior Jono Pelusi added an 11th place showing in the boys pole vault.
Overall, the North Allegheny boys were tied for fifth in the team rankings with a score of 16. The Lady Tigers were tied for 14th place with a team score of 12.
