Four Tigers Named All-WPIAL by WPSCA
Four members of the North Allegheny girls’ soccer team have been tabbed All-WPIAL by the Western Pennsylvania Soccer Coaches Association on Monday. Senior goalie Megan Miller, senior defenseman Alexa Spano, junior forward Lucia Wells and junior midfielder Sophia Palermo each earned All-WPIAL recognition.
Miller and Spano played a prominent role in North Allegheny’s 14 shutouts this season, setting a new program single-season record. Wells was the team’s leading scorer with 23 goals on the campaign, including a game-winning overtime marker against Norwin on Oct. 14. Palermo netted eight goals, fourth best on the Tigers.
All four player were instrumental in North Allegheny’s 16-1-1 record this season and a Section 1-AAAA title.
