Franklin Regional Defeats Tigers, 11-6

The North Allegheny girls’ lacrosse team fell to Franklin Regional on Monday evening at Newman Stadium, 11-6. The Panthers scratched out a 3-0 lead before NA got on the board at 14:47 with a goal by Caroline Palguta that was assisted by Abby Washabaugh. Brooke Ferringer and Washabaugh posted quick back-to-back goals in the first half but NA still trailed 6-3 at halftime.

In the second half, Marissa Lambert started the scoring with a goal, assisted by Courtney Heinl with a fine pass from behind the net at 19:18 to cut the deficit to 6-4. Despite a goal by Paige Jones and another by Washabaugh, the Tigers could not keep pace with Franklin Regional as the Panthers clawed their way to an 11-6 victory.

North Allegheny drops to 2-9 overall and 1-8 in Division 1, Section 2. Franklin Regional remains in playoff contention with a 7-4 overall record and 4-4 section mark. The Tigers will visit Quaker Valley on Thursday night at 7:00.
