John Rullan Collects 200th Win As Tigers Head Coach

John Rullan won his 200th game as North Allegheny head coach as the Tigers defeated the Hampton Talbots on Friday night, 11-7. Rullan’s milestone victory came courtesy of a big offensive night by junior Dillon Dugan who scored four goals. All of Dugan’s goals came in a dominant second half by the Tigers. North Allegheny trailed 6-4 before scoring seven of the final eight goals of the game.

Gavin Hagen, Ben Maenza and Matt Osten netted goals in the first quarter to take a 3-1 lead. Junior Trevor Saundry tallied a marker in the second quarter to keep NA in the lead at halftime, 4-3.  Hampton scored the first three goals of the third quarter to garner a 6-4 advantage, but North Allegheny responded with six unanswered goals to end the third quarter and seized decisive control of the contest and a 10-6 lead.

Dugan collected three goals during the third period outburst, with Hagen, Alec Vissotski and Wes Powell also scoring goals. Dugan added one more goal for the Tigers in the final period to bring the final score to 11-7, North Allegheny.

Junior Greg Ferringer anchored the defense with eight forced errors and six ground balls. Vissotski was again dominated on the draw, winning 15 of 19 faceoffs and collecting eight ground balls. Trevor Perry grabbed six ground balls.

North Allegheny leaps to 4-3 overall with the non-section victory. Hampton falls to 6-3 overall. The Tigers visit Central Catholic on Saturday afternoon at 2:30.
