LaBarge’s Five Treys Helps NA Sink Moon, 65-50
Junior Devvin LaBarge poured in five three-pointers, all in the second half, to lift the North Allegheny Lady Tigers to a 65-50 win over the Moon Tigers in a non-section game on Monday night. LaBarge finished with 19 points and was 5 of 10 from beyond the arc on the night.
With Danielle Wall in foul trouble and Meg Morningstar sitting out another game due to injury, sophomore Sammie Dallier stepped up with nine points and eight rebounds. Fellow sophomore Taylor Lake narrowly missed out on a double-double, pulling down 10 boards and collecting nine points. Taylor Brennan and Abby Gonzales posted double digits with 13 and 11 points, respectively.
Moon was led by Amirah Moore who did her best to single-handedly keep her team in the game. Moore scored a game-high 22 points and corralled six rebounds. Like Taylor Lake of NA, Abby Unis of Moon fell just shy of a double-double with 10 rebounds and nine points.
North Allegheny improves to 2-1 on the season and will open Section 3 play on Thursday night with a visit to Seneca Valley. Moon sits at 2-1 and will visit Peters Township on Thursday in another non-section affair.
