Lady Tigers Crush Titans On Senior Night, 70-27

It was senior night for the North Allegheny girls’ basketball team and the two seniors for the Tigers stole the show.  North Allegheny got off to a slow start but used a 25-4 second quarter to blow past the Shaler Titans, 70-27. Senior Abby Gonzales posted 23 points and senior Taylor Lake added nine points and five steals.

Shaler led North Allegheny 11-10 at the end of the first quarter but Gonzales scored the first nine points of the quarter and scored 16 of her 23 in the second quarter. Gonzales was named the Wright Automotive player of the game for her efforts. and her great start for the second quarter.

The North Allegheny defense was brilliant all night forcing 20 turnovers and holding Shaler to single digits in three of the four quarters.  Madelyn Fischer also pitched in 11 points and nine rebounds for the Tigers.

North Allegheny improves to 7-0 in section play and will travel to Pine Richland on Monday night in a key section contest.
