Lady Tigers Earn Win Over North Hills, 3-1
The North Allegheny girls’ volleyball team won its third in a row with a 3-1 triumph over the North Hills Indians in Section 1-AAAA action on Tuesday night. The Lady Tigers claimed the victory by set scores of 25-14, 26-24, 23-25 and 25-20.
Sophomore Anna Sprys paced the Tigers hitting with a team-best 14 kills against the feisty Indians. Senior Maria Mosbacher notched 13 kills and Kayla Dinkins added 12 kills in the offensive attack. Emily Keiser and Allena Carmody kept North Hills on its heels with two aces apiece. Defensively, Erin Carmody had a team-leading 20 digs and Mosbacher followed with 19 digs.
North Allegheny leaps to 8-1 overall and 4-1 in Section 1-AAAA with the win. North Hills falls to 0-5 in section play. The Lady Tigers will take part in the State College Invitational over the weekend.
