North Allegheny senior outfielder Lauren Haywood signed her letter of intent on Thursday to continue her academic and athletic career at Williams College in Massachusetts.

As a freshman in 2018, Haywood burst onto the scene at North Allegheny with a .423 batting average. With two seasons under her belt, Haywood is a career .298 hitter with 12 runs scored and eight RBI. She did not play her junior season due to the COVID-19 lockdown last spring.

Haywood will join an elite Williams College softball program that most recently went 39-7 in 2019 and reached the NCAA Division III College World Series for the fourth time in program history.

At Williams College, Haywood will major in Psychology. She is pictured above with her parents Bob and Rebecca Haywood, Team PA coach Denny Little, North Allegheny assistant coach Rick Meister and North Allegheny head coach Morgan Vescovi.
