Lucia Wells’ First-Half Hat Trick Sparks 11-0 Blowout At North Hills

The North Allegheny girls’ soccer team cruised to an 11-0 win over the North Hills Indians on Monday night at Martorelli Stadium.

Senior Lucia Wells sparked the onslaught with a first half hat trick to help lift the Tiger to a 4-0 halftime lead. Junior Abigail Stager also netted a first half marker.

In the second half, Sam Braden and Ally Ruiz each scored a pair of goals to continue the scoring bonanza over the final 40 minutes. Also touching the scoresheet in the second half with goals were junior Gracie Strzempek, sophomore Aubrey Wells and freshman Mia Bosley.

In a one-sided contest, junior Natalie Rak needed to make only one save to secure her second shutout of the season.

North Allegheny improves to 7-0 overall and 4-0 in Section 1-AAAA. North Hills falls to 1-4 overall and 1-3 in section play. The Tigers will host Fox Chapel on Wednesday in a rematch of last year’s WPIAL quarterfinal. The game will be broadcast live via the internet by the North Allegheny Sports Network.
