Maya Ennis Qualifies For PIAA Diving Championships

North Allegheny hosted the Class AAA WPIAL diving championships on Saturday and Lady Tigers freshman Maya Ennis qualified for states with a fifth-place performance. The top five in WPIAL diving qualify for the PIAA championships and Ennis made the cut with a score of 339.85. Ennis was one of only two freshman in the competition, including North Allegheny’s Olivia Schenk who finished in the top 16 with a score of 275.35.

Penn-Trafford’s Paige Kalik was the WPIAL girls’ diving champion with a score of 440.40. In the boys’ competition, Fox Chapel’s Jonah Cagley won WPIAL gold with a 536.85 score. While Ennis will prepare for states in diving, the NA boys and the NA girls will look to repeat as WPIAL swimming champions on Thursday and Friday at Trees Pool on the campus of the University of Pittsburgh.
