Mia Tuman Named Post-Gazette’s Girls Volleyball Player of the Year

North Allegheny junior Mia Tuman was named the 2021 Pittsburgh Post-Gazette’s Girls Volleyball Player of the Year. The Ohio State University recruit led the Tigers to a 20-1 season and a fifth consecutive PIAA Class 4A championship.

Tuman was selected to the all-state team by the Pennsylvania Volleyball Coaches Association last month. She was also tabbed first team All-WPIAL and first team all-section by the Big 56 Conference.

It’s the second consecutive season a North Allegheny girls’ volleyball player has garnered the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette’s Player of the Year award. Louisville freshman and former Tiger, Paige Morningstar, was the 2020 PG Player of the Year. Tuman is also the second player in her own family to claim POY honors. Tuman’s older brother, Canyon, was the 2018 Post-Gazette Boys’ Volleyball Player of the Year and is currently a senior Men’s Volleyball player at Penn State University.
