NA Advances To PIAA Semifinals With Win Over W.C. Henderson
The North Allegheny girls’ tennis team continued its quest for a second straight state title with a 3-2 victory over W.C. Henderson on Friday afternoon in the PIAA quarterfinals.
The Tigers advanced to the semifinals with a pair of wins in singles play by Ashley Huang and Ella Sinciline. Huang earned a 6-0, 6-1 win at No. 1 singles and Sinciline prevailed 6-2, 6-3 at No. 2 singles. In doubles play, the No. 1 duo of Claire Shao and Riya Yadav delivered a 7-6 (3), 4-6, 6-3 triumph.
North Allegheny will face the runner-up from District 1, Conestoga, in the PIAA semifinals on Saturday morning at 11:30 a.m. The winner will advance to the PIAA finals at 5:30 p.m.
