NA Bounces Butler For 6th Straight Win, 8-3

North Allegheny won its sixth straight game on Tuesday night with an 8-3 road victory at Butler. The Tigers opened up a 5-0 lead by the third period before Butler finally cracked the scoreboard. Junior Wes Powell notched a hat trick and senior Gavin Hagen dished out five assists.

Sophomore Matt Osten and freshman Isaiah Davis netted first quarter goals to put NA on top, 2-0. Powell tallied two markers in the second quarter for a 4-0 halftime lead. Davis, Powell and Dillon Dugan all scored goals in the second half to put the game away, with Dugan netting two goals to round out the scoring for NA.

On defense, senior Jack Kairys picked up a team-best eight ground balls and totaled four forced errors. Senior Greg Ferringer hauled in three ground balls and four forced errors. Senior Jeremy Osten added three ground balls and three forced errors. On faceoffs, senior Alec Vissotski won 9 of 15 draws.

North Allegheny improves to 6-1 overall and 3-0 in Section 3-AAA. Butler falls to 2-6 overall and 1-3 in the section. The Tigers host Birmingham Seaholm on Friday at 7:00 p.m.
