NA Bowlers Split With Mars

Posted on:

“Going old school,” was the theme this week as the NA Tigers time-traveled back a few decades at Mars Lanes. The home lanes for the Planets is a bowling alley in downtown Mars steeped in tradition with manual scoring by volunteers, authentic wood lanes (not acrylic as you will find at most establishments), and low bowling averages.

This was a challenge for the NA bowlers but NA boys’ team was able to overcome and leave Mars with another check in the win column (6-1), taking all seven match points.

No bowler on either team was able to break the 600 pin barrier; however notable games were delivered by sophomore Alex Cook (218, 214) and junior T.J Robinson (219.)

In girls’ bowling, the Lady Tigers dropped a 5-2 decision to the Planets. Although the end result was a defeat for the Lady Tigers, there were some outstanding performances.  Senior Carly Kovalchik led the team with a 456 series and a high game of 179.  Rookie junior Autumn Baldwin had a high game of 167.

The North Allegheny bowling team will visit Seneca Valley this Wednesday.
