NA Boys Sweep, Lady Tigers Split Section Tri-Meet

North Allegheny Cross Country teams hosted North Hills and Seneca Valley on their home course on Tuesday afternoon.  The NA boys defeated both teams, while the Lady Tigers went 1-1. The weather cooperated and the times were fast.

NA boys let Seneca Valley’s top runner take the top individual spot but the Tigers claimed the next 10 spots in the race.  Sophomore sensation, Jackson Hickel, led the Tigers with a fantastic second-place finish. Senior Dan McGoey was third and freshman Gregory Kossuth (4th) had an outstanding race breaking 17 minutes for the first time.  Danny Robles had a nice race placing fifth and he was closely followed by Graham Wolfe in sixth place. The boys defeated Seneca 20-43 and swept North Hills 15-50.

On the girls’ side, it was an extremely competitive race with two of the top WPIAL teams battling head to head over the 5k course. The Seneca Valley girls ran outstanding races and were able to defeat the Tigers, 26-29. Hannah Lindgren won the race and Keeley Misutka grabbed third in a close finish near the top.  Lexi Sundgren was seventh and Maura Mlecko finished eighth.  Caroline Daggett rounded out the top five with her 10th place finish. The NA girls lost to Seneca 29-26 and swept North Hills 15-50.

North Allegheny returns to action on Oct. 1 at Butler with Shaler for another section tri-meet.
