NA Dominates Mars At Home Opener
North Allegheny Cross Country had its first home section meet of the season at the North Park course. It was a hot afternoon but both girls and boys prevailed with a dominant performance.
The girls had a perfect score against Mars (15-50), taking the top eight spots in the race. Leading the Lady Tigers with an outstanding performance was sophomore Erin McGoey. Freshman Elizabeth Pizon ran very well and was runner-up. Sophomore standout Maia Getz was right behind Pizon in third place. Senior Sam Waldo had a big race, placing fourth overall. Junior Grace Rowley ran well taking fifth place. Seniors Adelle Snider and Elena Fleming had strong races, rounding out the top 7.
In the second race, the boys were also dominant over Mars with a perfect 15-50 victory. NA took the top sevetn spots in the race. Senior Zane Kinne had a tremendous race taking first place overall. Senior Danny Robles was solid in second place. Juniors Jackson Pajak and Nick Betler stepped up big taking 3rd and 4th respectively. Sophomores Connor Williams and James Behrend, and junior Joey Rempe followed quickly with great races, taking fifth, sixth and seventh respectively
Both North Allegheny teams improved to 2-0 (1-0 in the section) and will travel to Boardman, Ohio for their next meet on Saturday (Spartan Invitational).
