NA Falls At Hempfield In Section Contest
North Allegheny lost against section opponent Hempfield on the road by a final score of 9-2.
Sophomore pitcher Sammy Plotsko started the game for the Tigers, striking out seven and allowing three runs in the first three innings. However, the fourth inning brought trouble for the Tigers, allowing the Spartans to increase their lead from three runs to nine. Junior Anne Melle threw 2.1 innings in relief, allowing two of those runs.
The Tigers’ offense threatened throughout the game, but was unable to score until the seventh inning. Plotsko and freshman Taylor Neese earned RBIs in the inning with well-placed singles. Junior Caitlin Logan went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead the Tigers in hits.
The Tigers will travel to Mt. Lebanon on Thursday for their next section matchup. The game is scheduled to begin at 4:15 p.m.
