NA Falls At Pine-Richland, 13-10

The North Allegheny girls’ lacrosse team dropped a 13-10 decision at Pine-Richland on Monday night in a Section 2-AAA contest.

Senior attack Erica Hudock, who led the Rams with four goals, scored the first goal of the night and helped Pine-Richland take a 5-3 lead by halftime. The Tigers received two first half goals from junior Mila Prusak and another from sophomore Isla Abrams. Sophomore goalie Izzie Trunzo had a huge first half with nine saves and kept North Allegheny within striking distance.

Pine-Richland scored three straight goals to open the second half for an 8-3 advantage with 20:52 remaining. While it appeared that the Rams might pull away, the Tigers surged back on four consecutive goals to cut the deficit to 8-7 with 15:43 to play in regulation. The North Allegheny run was sparked by back-to-back goals from senior Bella Falo, followed by markers courtesy of Prusak and junior Leigh Failla.

In a game of runs, Pine-Richland answered back with a 5-0 spurt to take command of the game for a 13-8 lead. The Tigers ended the game on a 3-0 run with goals by senior Allison Lyon and two more from Prusak to bring the final score to 13-10, Rams. Prusak led the Tigers with a five-goal performance.

North Allegheny slips to 9-5 overall and 7-3 in Section 2-AAA, while Pine-Richland improves to 9-1 in section play. The Tigers will visit Hempfield Tuesday night in a non-section matchup.
