The North Allegheny girls’ lacrosse team dropped a 19-7 decision to the reigning WPIAL champion Pine-Richland Rams on Monday night at Newman Stadium. The Tigers trailed 9-5 at halftime before the Rams pulled away by outscoring NA, 10-2, in the second half. Senior Marina Miller led the Rams with five goals in the Section 3-AAA win.

Junior Ryley McClellan did her best to keep the Tigers within striking distance and netted a team-high four goals to give her 21 on the season. For her efforts, McClellan was named the Wright Automotive Player of the Game by the North Allegheny Sports Network.

Joining McClellan on the scoresheet was Brooke Ferringer, Katie Oates and Skye DePrado. Ferringer and DePrado added assists. Junior Paige Jones posted two assists and a team-best four groundballs. Ferringer had three groundballs as well. Bombarded by shots most of the night, junior goalie Becca Wickett performed admirably in net and totaled 12 saves.

Following the loss, North Allegheny slips to 4-6 overall and 3-5 in Section 3-AAA. Pine-Richland wins their fourth straight game and improves to 8-1 overall and 4-1 in the section. The Tigers look to bounce back on Wednesday night with a home date with the Canon-McMillan Big Macs in non-section play. Start time is slated for 6:30 p.m.
