NA Grapplers Flex Muscles At Hampton Dawg Duals
The North Allegheny wrestling team opened the 2018-2019 season with a strong showing at the Hampton Dawg Duals on Saturday. The Tigers went 4-1 at the event, including a 39-30 victory over the host Talbots to cap the day.
The Tigers began the day with a 61-10 triumph over Avonworth that featured three wins by fall courtesy of Max Stedeford (126), Ian Branstetter (138) and Jon Hoover (182).
NA followed that up with a convincing 66-12 win over Ligonier Valley that included eight wins by fall. Pins were recorded Dylan Coy (106), Brad Stipetich (113), Stedeford (126), Branstetter (138), Bobby Snyder (152), Brady Leczo (170), Hoover (182) and Austin Huebner (285).
Despite a 40-30 loss to Norwin, the Tigers bounced back with a 46-27 victory over Fox Chapel. Pins were recorded by Coy (106), Stedeford (126), Branstetter (138), and Leczo (170). NA concluded the day with the 39-30 win over Hampton.
Following a tremendous performance at the Hampton Dawg Duals, the North Allegheny wrestling team will open section play at Shaler on Wednesday night at 7:00 p.m.
