NA Gymnasts Take 2nd Place On Senior Night

The North Allegheny gymnastics team qualified for the WPIAL championship with a second-place finish on senior night. The Tigers posted a team score of 141.4, their highest of the season, finishing narrowly behind first-place Pine-Richland, who posted a team scored of 141.650. Hampton (136.8), Burrell (133.9) and Fox Chapel (121.850) also competed at Wednesday night’s event.

The Lady Tigers were paced by freshman Reyna Garvey, who led the team in the vault (9.7), bars (9.6), beam (9.1) and floor (9.5) events. Junior Kelsey O’Neill had a good night as well with strong scores in the vault (9.1), bars (9.45) and floor (9.3) competitions. Sophomore Jenna McConnell came through with solid performances in the vault (9.0) and floor (9.3) events. Senior manager Logan Falk was honored before the meet for senior night. North Allegheny will try to take home a title at the WPIAL Championship on Friday, February 15.
