NA Hammers Seneca Valley For 3-0 Win

For the second time this week North Allegheny defeated a Top 10 ranked team in Pennsylvania. On Thursday night, the fifth-ranked Tigers did it in impressive fashion with a 3-0 victory over the seventh-ranked Seneca Valley Raiders.  NA earned the sweep with set wins of 25-16, 25-16, and 25-15.

Senior setter Antonios Balouris had a terrific night with 41 assists.  Jeremy Best and Brendan Brown stuffed the middle with six and four blocks, respectively. Matt Nichol provided three aces and with pinpoint accuracy and powerful swings, senior Mitch Higgins paced the Tigers with a team-high 12 kills.  Also adding a pair of aces, Higgins was named the Wright Automotive Player of the Match.

North Allegheny improves to 6-0 overall and 5-0 in Section 2-AAA.  Seneca Valley falls to 3-2 overall and 3-1 in section play.  The trend of facing some of the best teams in the state this week will continue on Saturday when the Tigers take part in the Central York Invitational.  The invite gets underway at 8:30 am.
