NA Loses Close Rematch Against Seneca Valley, 2-0
North Allegheny and Seneca Valley faced off o Wednesday for the first time since competing for the WPIAL Championship last season. While both teams were strong in the circle during the section contest, Seneca Valley was just a bit stronger at the plate to earn a 2-0 victory over the Tigers. Sophomore Sammy Plotsko started the game on the mound for Tigers, holding the Raiders to four hits and two runs over six innings, striking out six.
Lexie Hames, the hurler for Seneca Valley, held the Tigers’ offense to a single hit by Plotsko in the seventh inning. She recorded 17 strikeouts and walked one. Both teams excelled in the field, with North Allegheny committing only one error and Seneca Valley committing none.
The Tigers will host Pine Richland next Tuesday at 5:30 to continue section play. The game will be broadcast live by the North Allegheny Sports Network.
