NA Outlasted By Reigning WPIAL Class AA Champs
Facing Class AA powerhouse Greensburg Central Catholic on Wednesday, the North Allegheny girls’ golf team dropped a 161-177 decision at Mt. Odin Golf Course.
The Centurions are the six-time reigning WPIAL champions in Class AA and used a near perfect performance to outlast the Tigers, led by senior twins Megan and Ella Zambruno, who shot 34 and 38, respectively.
North Allegheny shot well and was paced by junior Katie Rose Rankin with a 1-over par 38, including three birdies. Senior Sissi Hai and sophomore Megan Manesiotis each shot a 46, while junior Lauren Kardos chipped in with a 47.
The loss drops North Allegheny’s record to 3-1 on the young season. The Tigers look to bounce back with a visit to Black Hawk Golf Course to face the host Cougars. Tee time is set for 3:00 p.m.
