NA Overpowers Rams For Section Win, 3-0
The North Allegheny boys’ volleyball team rolled past another section opponent on Tuesday night with a 3-0 sweep of the Pine-Richland Rams. The Tigers won by set scores of 25-18, 25-15 and 32-30. The win clinches a playoff spot for NA, who currently sits in first place in Section 2-AAA.
The Tigers peppered Pine-Richland with the big swings of junior Jason Stiefvater and Canyon Tuman who cranked out 12 kills apiece. Tuman also posted five blocks, one behind team leader Eric Visgitis who notched six blocks. Junior A.J. Schmidt collected a team-best seven digs and 39 assists.
North Allegheny improves to 9-0 overall and 8-0 in Section 2-AAA. Pine-Richland drops to 3-4 in section play. The Tigers host Norwin on Wednesday night for a non-section clash.
JV Update: NA won 2-0 (25-9, 25-14).
