NA Prevails Over Obama Academy in Double OT, 71-69

The North Allegheny boys’ basketball team won its third straight game on Tuesday night with a 71-69 win over Obama Academy in double overtime. The Tigers outscored Obama Academy 8-6 in the second overtime to claim the non-section victory.

Five players touched double figures for the Tigers, including junior Khalil Dinkins who netted a team-high 18 points and 11 rebounds. Junior Greg Habib also tallied a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds.

Senior Zach Andreykovich netted 14 points, senior Grant Timmerson added 13 points and senior Justin Altmeyer chipped in with 10 points.

Obama Academy was paced by Sayon Bennett with a game-high 23 points and Sean Snead with 20 points and 16 rebounds.

North Allegheny improves to 4-2 overall with the victory, while Obama Academy remains winless with an 0-4 record. The Tigers will host top-ranked Butler on Friday night at 8:00 p.m. in their section opener. The game will be broadcast live by the North Allegheny Sports Network.
