NA Rams Pine Richland

The NA swim team returned home with a decisive victory over Section rival Pine Richland.  The girls’ team won every event except the 200 IM in their 102 – 66 victory.  The boys’ team won every event except the 200 Free in their 98 – 71 victory.

The girls were led by double event winners Torie Buerger and Lauren McGrath.  Torie won both the 50 Free and the 100 Free.  Lauren won the 100 Fly and the 100 Back.  The NA girls’ team had three events in which they accomplished a 1-2-3 finish.  Ann Juneau led a NA sweep in the 200 Free followed by fellow teammates Anna Verardi and Aimee Verardi.  Megan Christy finished first in the 500 Free followed by teammates Lila McGrath and Caitlyn Edwards.  Kristine Mihm, Anna Verardi and Sydney Monteparte swept the 100 Breast.  The 200 Medley Relay team of Kristine Mihm, Serena Yan, Megan Christy and Caitlyn Edwards cruised to victory.  The team of Mary Flavin, Olivia Kraus, Emma Kunzmann and Ann Juneau won the 200 Free Relay while the team of Mary Flavin, Lila McGrath, Olivia Kraus and Ann Juneau won the 400 Free Relay.

The boys’ team had a different winner in every individual event.  Joel Songer won the 200 Free, while Andrew Zhang won the 50 Free followed closely by Eben Krigger and Matthew Kuhn.  Eben Krigger won the 100 Fly and Ricky Mihm won the 100 Free with Jerry Chen and John Ehling finishing second and third, respectively. Jack Wright won the 500 Free and Maxwell Gonzalez won the 100 Breast.  Mason Gonzalez led fellow swimmers Evan Soulia and Alex Grahor in a sweep of the 100 Back.  The team of Jack Wright, Mason Gonzalez, Ricky Mihm and Matthew Kuhn won the 200 Medley relay.  Joel Songer, Eric Staab, Patrick Upton and Andrew Zhang won the 200 Free Relay and Joel Songer, Jack Wright, Eric Staab and Andrew Zhang won the 400 Free Relay.

In diving, Morgan Rutan led the girls with a 3rd place finish and Trey Serbin led the boys with a second place finish.

The team travels to Wilkes-Barre on Friday and Saturday for the All-American Invitational and then returns home on Tuesday, January 17 for a Section 2 meet against Hampton.
