NA Streaks Past Ringgold Rams

The Edwards twins each finished first in the 100-yard breaststroke events as the North Allegheny swimming and diving teams each improved to 2-0 by sweeping the Ringgold Rams on Thursday at North Allegheny Senior High School.  Caitlyn Edwards won the girls’ 100-yard breaststroke in 1:13.58 as the girls won 70-58, and she also took first place in the 200-yard individual medley, finishing in 2:22.36.  Her twin brother, Brett, won the boys’ 100-yard breaststroke in 1:03.03 as the boys won 77-41.

Other first-place finishers for the boys were junior Eben Krigger in the 100-yard backstroke (56.91), freshman John Ehling in the 200-yard freestyle (1:55.84), freshman Jerry Chen in the 200-yard individual medley (2:08.17), junior Eric Staab in the 50-yard freestyle (23.51), freshman Tolik Borisov in the 100-yard butterfly (1:00.26), senior Gage Halle in the 100-yard freestyle (49.86), and freshman Jack Wright in the 500-yard freestyle (5:04.13).

For the girls, other first-place winners were freshman Nicole Marnell in the 100-yard backstroke (1:05.95), freshman Mary Liz Flavin in the 200-yard freestyle (2:02.73), freshman Lila McGrath in the 50-yard freestyle (26.20), junior Katie Davis in the 100-yard freestyle (59.93) and freshman Marlyn Root in the 500-yard freestyle (5:35.79).

In diving, freshman Alaina Kim finished first among the girls with a score of 167.75.  Senior Jared Ziegler finished first among the boys with a score of 206.05.
