NA Swats Seneca Valley On Senior Night
Against section rival Seneca Valley, the North Allegheny girls’ volleyball team eliminated the Raiders from playoff contention with a 3-0 sweep on Senior Night. The Tigers knocked out the Raiders by set scores of 25-9, 25-15 and 25-14.
Seniors Anna Sprys and Avery Tuman led the offensive charge with 10 kills each, while senior Allena Carmody anchored the defense with a team-best 12 digs. Sprys added five blocks as well.
It wasn’t just the seniors who got into the act for the Tigers as it was another well-balanced evening for the reigning PIAA champions. Sophomores Paige Miller and Paige Morningstar had 10 digs each. Paige Miller also added four aces and Morningstar clogged the net with five blocks. Junior Abby Miller kept the Raiders on their heels and served 25 times to help produce a frequent run of points.
North Allegheny remains undefeated with a 15-0 overall record and 11-0 mark in Section 1-AAAA. Seneca Valley slides to 3-8 in the section. The Lady Tigers round out the section schedule with a visit to Pine-Richland on Thursday night.
