NA Tops Cathedral Prep, 5-1

The North Allegheny ice hockey team returned to the win column on Thursday night with a 5-1 triumph over Cathedral Prep at the Baierl Ice Complex in Warrendale. The Ramblers only goal was a power play marker by Jake Kruszewski in the second period. Otherwise, the game was dominated by North Allegheny who outshot Cathedral Prep, 45-25.

The Tigers opened up a 1-0 lead with a goal by Connor Chi at 8:22 mark of the first period.

In the second period, the Tigers sandwiched goals from Will Parreaguirre and Matt Gentile around the Kruszweski goal to take a 3-1 lead into the second intermission.

North Allegheny put the game away in the third period on goals from Nathan Mellott and Tyler Lamark to close out a 5-1 victory.

Tyler Boyles was the winning goalie for NA, stopping 24 of 25 shots faced. Prep’s Cole Wisniewski made 40 saves in a losing effort.

North Allegheny improves to 5-0-1 with the victory, while Cathedral Prep dips to 2-3-1. The Tigers will visit Bethel Park on Thursday, Nov. 14 at 7:10 p.m.
