North Allegheny SS Cole Young Selected As Trib 10, Post-Gazette All-Star
North Allegheny freshman shortstop Cole Young has been named to the Trib Live High School Sports Network and Pittsburgh Post-Gazette’s postseason all-star team. Young earned Trib 10 and PG honors following a fabulous freshman season that saw the phenom lead the Tigers batting average (.414), on-base percentage (.500) and RBI (26). Young also led the Tigers with three home runs and provided stellar play defensively for the PIAA semifinalists. Young is the first freshman to ever be named to the PG’s All-Area all-star team.
With the help of Young, North Allegheny went 19-7 on the season and advanced to the WPIAL and PIAA final four. Young is verbally committed to Duke University.
