Overflow Crowd Inspires NA Swimmers at Last Ditch Invitational

A loud, supportive overflow crowd at North Allegheny High School inspired area swimmers to 40 WPIAL qualifying times.  North Allegheny swimmers collected 22 qualifying times with the girls getting 12 and the boys 10.

Michaela Hinkson and Quinn Frost achieved two WPIAL times each, Hinkson in the 200 Free and 100 Fly and Frost in the 100 Fly and 100 Back.  Lily Courville swam under the WPIAL time in the 200 Free while Olivia Krause achieved a time in the 200 IM.  Mary Flavin and Sydney Monteparte both achieved qualifying times in the 100 Fly. Kara Mihm achieved her WPIAL time by .01 seconds in the 100 Free.  Olivia Kisow’s 100 Back beat the WPIAL time and Isabella Dietz and Haley Miller qualified in the 100 Breast.  

Richard Jensen and Tolik Borisov bettered the qualifying time in the 200 Free and Jacob Yarosv qualified in the 200 IM.  RJ Swanson, Tim Compton and Micah Phillips all reached times in the 50 Free. Compton also qualified in the 100 Free.  Matt Turzai and Hayden Klein both achieved times in the 100 Fly.  Joel Songer received the last qualifying time of the evening for the boys as he qualified in the 100 Back.

The North Allegheny diving team participates in the WPIAL Diving Championship on Saturday, February 23.  The event is at North Allegheny High School pool and starts at 10 a.m.

The North Allegheny swim team participates in the WPIAL Swimming Championships on Thursday, February 28 and Friday, March 1 at Trees Pool on the University of Pittsburgh campus.  The meet begins at 8:30 a.m. on both days.
