Reigning WPIAL & PIAA Champs Open Season With Victory
The North Allegheny girls’ golf team opened up its PIAA and WPIAL title defense with an exhibition match against Mt. Lebanon on their home course. The Lady Tigers were successful in posting a 164 – 191 victory. Senior Christina Lewis shot the low score of the day with an even par 36. Senior Caroline Wrigley chipped in with a 38. Mt Lebanon was led by Lindsey Pinando with a 46 and Maddy Burtone with a 47.
The Tigers shook off a little rust in their victory. The greens had just been aerated so it was guesswork on choosing the speed on chips and putts. The Lady Tigers are looking to improve upon their scores in their next match against Upper Saint Clair on Tuesday at Pittsburgh North at 3:30 pm, North Allegheny’s home course.
