Seneca Valley Snaps NA’s 10-game winning streak, 2-1

In battle of unbeaten teams, the North Allegheny girls’ soccer team was edged by the Seneca Valley Raiders on Friday afternoon, 2-1, in Section 1-AAAA action. The loss snaps a 10-game winning streak for the Tigers and a 20-game section unbeaten streak. Prior to Friday, the last time the Lady Tigers lost to a section opponent was two years ago to the day, on Sept. 23, 2020, in a 3-2 loss to Butler.

Karly Majeski scored two goals in the first half, including one with just 25 seconds left before halftime, to give the Raiders a 2-0 lead. The Tigers fought back in the second half and cut the score to 2-1 on a marker by Anna Bundy. However, the NA rally fell one goal short and Seneca Valley prevailed to improve to 7-0-2 overall and 6-0-2 in the section.

The Tigers dropped their first game of the season and sit at 10-1 overall and 6-1 in the section. NA will host Shaler on Monday at 6:30 p.m. The game will be broadcast live by the North Allegheny Sports Network.
