Smith, Forys Medal At Ironman Invitational
North Allegheny was one of 88 schools to participate in the Iron Man Invitational this weekend at Walsh Jesuit High School and put together an impressive showing. The Tigers Wrestling Team had two grapplers medal at the highly competitive invitational. At 126 pounds, senior Dom Forys took fourth place before being edged by a 9-7 decision in the third place consolation bout by Canon-McMillan’s Dalton Macri. At 195 pounds, junior Zach Smith also claimed fourth place. Smith reached the third place consolation bout, but dropped a 12-6 decision to Andre Lee of Oak Park River Forest High School.
Overall, North Allegheny collected a team score of 50 points, which put the Tigers in the top third of the 88 schools competing. For a full list of scores and brackets at the Iron Man Invitational, click here.
North Allegheny returns to section action on Wednesday night with a home match-up against the Knoch Knights. Start time is slated for 7:00 pm at NASH.
