Strong Third Period Propels NA Inline Past Seneca Valley, 5-3

North Allegheny scored three unanswered goals in the third period to rally for a 5-3 win over the Seneca Valley Raiders on Sunday.

It was a good start for the Tigers inline team, jumping out to a 2-0 lead in the first period on the strength of goals from Matthew Cameron and Aaron Mark. However, the Raiders netted three straight goals for a 3-2 lead when Trevor Botta scored at the 12:58 mark of the second period.

The final stanza, and ultimately the game, belonged to the Tigers. Justin Symons tied the game at 3-3 at the 3:44 mark of the third. Late in the period, North Allegheny took the lead and put the game away on back-to-back goals from Tyler Putnam and Symons within 20 seconds of each other for a 5-3 victory.

The win improves North Allegheny’s record to 9-4 with two OT losses on the season, while Seneca Valley falls to 5-9-1. The Tigers will visit Canon-McMillan on Sunday, Jan. 20.
