The North Allegheny Tigers (19-0, 14-0) concluded their section schedule undefeated on Tuesday night with a 10-1 win over the North Hills Indians (6-8, 6-8).

NA got on the board in the opening frame and never looked back. McKenzie Gostomski and Emily Hogan smacked back-to-back singles and were moved into scoring position on a passed ball before a Liz Scherer doubled them home to score. After a Madi Beining walk, Logan Woodley hit a two-RBI single and put the Tigers up 4-0. The Tigers added a run in the third.

In the circle, Beining sent down 11-straight batters before the Indians’ Madison Posterivo broke up the no-hitter in the fourth-inning. An RBI double by Anna McNickle plated Posterivo for the only North Hills run.

The Tigers tallied five more runs across the final three, innings including Scherer’s first career homerun to lead off the sixth. Scherer went 3 for 4 in the game, finishing a triple shy of the cycle, and batted in four runs.

Beining picked up the complete game win allowing just one run on two hits, striking out five and walking a batter. Lindsey Wittig took the loss for North Hills.

North Allegheny looks to finish the regular season undefeated when it hosts Hempfield Wednesday night for a non-section game at 7 p.m at NASH.
