Tigers Cruise To 3-0 Sweep At Pine-Richland

The North Allegheny boys’ volleyball team made it 72 consecutive wins on Monday night with a 3-0 sweep at Pine-Richland. The Tigers prevailed by set scores of 25-12, 25-14, 25-17.

In a well-balanced performance, junior Nico Sfeir paced the offense with eight kills, followed by senior Titus LaMay with seven kills. Senior Zach Brkovich and junior Varun Kaveti each tallied five kills, while junior Jax Wilhite, sophomore Sam Kinzler and senior Ben Huet all chipped in with four kills. Senior setters Caleb Schall and Jake Koch facilitated the offense with 16 and 15 assists, respectively.

Schall’s serves hampered the Rams, tallying three aces. Koch, LaMay and senior Stephen Laun added a pair of aces each. On defense, libero Ryan Treser collected 18 digs.

With the win, North Allegheny leaps to 7-0 overall and in Section 2-AAA. Pine-Richland slips to 0-7 in section play. The Tigers will host Shaler on Tuesday night at 7:00 p.m. The match will be broadcast live by the North Allegheny Sports Network.
