Tigers Devour Big Macs In 42-6 Romp

Senior running back Percise Colon rushed for 260 yards and two touchdowns as North Allegheny conquered the Canon-McMillan Big Macs on Friday night, 42-6. Colon did his damage on just 11 carries, averaging 23.6 yards per tote. The Tigers ground game chewed up the Big Macs all night long and accounted for 360 of NA’s 427 total yards.

On the very first play from scrimmage, the Tigers set the tone for the night when Colon took a pitch right and raced to the end zone for an 85-yard touchdown and an immediate 7-0 lead. On the night, Colon accounted for 303 total yards on his way to Wright Automotive Player of the Game honors.

With 3:41 remaining in the first quarter, junior Ben Rohan scored on a 9-yard run to extend the lead to 14-0.

North Allegheny tacked on three more touchdowns in the second quarter to invoke the mercy rule by halftime. Junior Nathan Hoke scored on a 1-yard run, quarterback Ben Petchke tossed a 30-yard touchdown pass to Khalil Dinkins and Colon added another score with a 28-yard run to pay dirt for a 35-0 lead at intermission.

With the game at hand in the second half, Canon-McMillan was able to finally crack the scoreboard on a 1-yard quarterback sneak by Jon Quinque with 4:32 to play in the third quarter, trimming the NA lead to 35-6.

North Allegheny put the finishing touches on the victory with a 26-yard touchdown run by Kolin Dinkins in the fourth quarter to close out a 42-6 triumph.

Defensively for NA, Hoke led in tackles with 4.5 stops and senior Sam Sheridan notched a pair of sacks.

With the win, North Allegheny improves to 4-0 overall and 3-0 in conference play. Canon-McMillan drops to 0-4 overall and 0-3 in the conference. The Tigers will host Mt. Lebanon next week in a battle for first place in the Quad County Conference.
