Tigers Edged By Rams, 1-0
The North Allegheny boys’ soccer team dropped a narrow 1-0 decision to Pine-Richland in Gibsonia on Tuesday night in Section 1-AAAA action.
The host Rams struck early in the 7th minute when a direct kick led to a rebound that senior Ben Rishel drove into the NA net for a 1-0 lead. Despite the early deficit, the Tigers fought back and controlled possession most of the night. However, NA couldn’t find the equalizer and Pine-Richland hung on for the 1-0 win.
Junior goalie Dante Accamando made three saves to help keep things close. NA outshot PR, 6-4.
Following the loss, North Allegheny slips to 7-4-1 overall and 5-4 in Section 1-AAAA. Pine-Richland improves to 8-1-1 overall and 6-1-1 in the section. The Tigers visit Butler for an important section showdown on Thursday night.
