Tigers Fall Short In Section Finale At Norwin
The North Allegheny Tigers lost their final section game, 6-0, against the Norwin Knights.
Norwin’s defense, led by pitcher Angelina Pepe, held the Tigers to three hits. Freshman McKenna Rowlands and senior Reagan Deitrick both singled in early innings, and senior Alaina Whipkey hit a double. Unfortunately, the Tigers’ offense was unable to capitalize on these hits.
Freshman Sammy Plotsko started on the mound for the Tigers, pitching 1.2 innings, allowing five hits and striking out one. Sophomore Anne Melle took over at the end of the second, allowing four hits and striking out two.
The Tigers conclude section play with a record of 4-6 and sit at 10-7 overall on the season. NA will travel to Penn-Trafford tomorrow for their next contest. The game is scheduled to begin at 4:15 p.m.
