Tigers Suffer Setback To First-Place Pine-Richland
The North Allegheny girls’ lacrosse team traveled to Pine-Richland for a soggy section game on Monday night, falling to the host Rams by a 15-5 decision. Senior Abby Washabaugh and sophomore Brooke Ferringer scored goals for the Tigers in the first half. The NA defense, led by Nicole Atkinson, Vivian Lindsay, Cassidy Heim, Julian Puntil and Bethany Schreiber, fought hard against the Pine-Richland attack. However, the Rams offense was relentless and led 11-2 at the half.
In the second half, Washabaugh opened the scoring to cut the score to 11-3, Rams. Sophomore Paige Jones and senior Jenna Prutting added goals for the Tigers, but in the end the night belonged to the Rams who maintained their undefeated record in Section 3-AAA.
Following the loss, North Allegheny slips to 4-5 overall and 4-4 in section play. The Lady Tigers will visit Moon on Wednesday in a non-section contest.
