The North Allegheny Tigers held on once again in a hard fought 7-6 win over the Upper St. Clair Panthers Sunday at the RMU Island Sports Center.
The Panthers opened the game on a mission scoring the first three goals before senior Steven Cameron got the Tigers on the board with a shorthanded goal assisted by junior Matthew Noffsinger.  Junior Stefan Craig added a goal as well assisted by senior Kip Seymour to close out the first period with the Tigers down 3-2.
In the second period, the Panthers notched an early goal to pad their lead, but the Tigers remained strong and added goals from Seymour assisted by S. Cameron and a rebound goal by Craig to tie the score at 4-4.  Not to be outdone, the Panthers managed to score late in the second, closing out the period with the Tigers down 5-4.
Following two periods of playing catchup hockey, the third period saw goals from senior Ethan Zadnik assisted by senior Dan O’Malley and a goal from O’Malley assisted by Noffsinger.  Late in the third the Panthers took advantage of an NA penalty and scored a power play goal to tie the game at 6-6.  It was S. Cameron assisted by sophomore Christian Mark to notch the game-winner and secure the Tiger victory at 7-6.
Junior goalie Claudia Kushon earns the win as North Allegheny improves their record to 5-1. The Tigers will resume play next Sunday at 9:00 AM against the Penn-Trafford Warriors at the RMU Island Sports Center.
